Garden Pots
Many gardeners like having at least a few garden pots around. Some people don’t always understand the need for pots when you have a plot of land for gardening, but they are actually quite useful. There are also certain types of pots you should get, and others that should be avoided.
There are certain plant, herbs in particular, that may be better in a pot than in the ground. Mint plants are a favorite for many gardeners, but if planted in the ground this herb can take over your garden. Confining it to garden pots keeps it where you want it. Other herbs such as lavender don’t need very much water, and keeping them separate from the rest of the garden keeps them from getting overwatered.
When you are shopping for garden pots, make sure you get ones that have some drainage in the bottom. Also, clay pots such as terra cotta let your plants breath and won’t drown them. Plastic pots are more likely to hold in too mach water.
